April is famous around the world as an uplifting month of revitalization and renewal. As we welcome the change of season, we also invite you to start planning for your next adventure this fall. Whether you’re looking to explore a new culture, indulge in delicious cuisine, or simply relax and unwind in a beautiful destination, we have wonderful travel options for you.

In this newsletter, we’re thrilled to share some of our most delicious destinations for Fall 2023 – Barcelona and Catalonia, Egypt, and Israel. So, without further ado, let us delve into details on these rich cultural destinations –and possibly intrigue you to join one of our upcoming tours.

Barcelona and Catalonia: A Vibrant Tapestry of Culture, Cuisine & Stunning Architecture

Come venture across the sea into the vigorous and enchanting worlds of Barcelona and Catalonia. Here, the Mediterranean sun casts a golden glow on the inspiring architecture and narrow streets. You can smell the aroma of freshly baked bread rubbed with tomato and a drizzle of olive oil (a popular Catalan breakfast) and in the evening, sizzling seafood paella wafts through the streets. Barcelona is of course the capital of Catalonia, an area distinct from the south of Spain with a rich, intoxicating culture – and incredible food.

This captivating destination is also known for its Pyrenean peaks, glittering lakes, sandy beaches, and fertile vineyards. Whether you’re exploring the buzzing city of Barcelona, touring a medieval cathedral in Girona, relaxing on the beaches of Costa Brava… or sipping Cava (the local wine) in a cozy bodega, this region will leave you spellbound with its charm and character.

Beautiful Architecture in Barcelona
Barcelona, of course, is famous for its strange and exquisite buildings, including the iconic Sagrada Familia and Park Güell, designed by the renowned architect Antoni Gaudí. You also won’t want to miss the medieval Gothic Quarter with its rich history dating from Roman times through the Spanish civil war. Another delight is a stroll along the pretty tree-lined Las Ramblas boulevard – a pedestrian-only street. From art and history to beaches and nightlife, Barcelona has something for everyone. Fun Fact: Many believe that Catalonia means ‘Land of Castles’. Whether true or not, the region boasts an abundance of fortresses and magnificent, castle-like mansions that make it a stunning place to visit. If you would love to immerse yourself in the castles, Gaudí architecture, medieval towns, and seaside beauty of Barcelona and Catalonia (not to mention sample the delicious Catalan cuisine), join us this Fall! We have a delightful tour that provides a perfect blend of city sightseeing with the exploration of the natural wonders of the country and seaside towns. Our 14-day Barcelona and Catalonia tour runs from September 18 to October 1.

Egypt: Wonder of the Pyramids & Sailing the Storied Nile

Egypt. Land of the Pharaohs. Could there be a more iconic destination on your bucket list? This ancient land of wonders is also a country of startling contrasts: silent stone colossi millennia years old alongside a vibrant modern culture of minarets, midnight bazaars, chaotic traffic, and belly dancing shows. Come to see the Great Pyramids of Giza – that last surviving wonder of the ancient world. Venture south to the great temples and tombs of Pharaohs in Luxor. You will also find yourself swept up in the exotic markets, Sufi shows, and the surprising warmth and humour of the wonderful Egyptian people. Both modern and ancient Egypt has cast a spell over travellers for thousands of years.

New Discoveries & Openings in Egypt
Even if you have been in the past, so much has changed in Egypt over the last decade. New site openings, new discoveries – and better tourism infrastructure. This year, many of the museums and historic sites have been restored and transformed and so many secrets have emerged from the sand. Read more about some of the exciting discoveries that have happened recently in Egypt, particularly at the site of Saqqara.

This Fall, we invite you to join us on the Wonders of Egypt tour and explore this great country! Drift like Cleopatra on the eternal Nile on an exuberant deluxe river cruise. Take in all the sites you have always wanted to see in your wildest dreams.

Israel: Journey through the Cradle of Civilization

Whatever your faith – or personal spirituality, you may have a strong call to the land of Israel. Would it not be wonderful to follow in the footsteps of King David, Abraham, Herod, Mohammed – and Jesus of Nazareth? Embrace the endless layers of spiritual and religious icons dotting this storied landscape, as well as its stunning cultural and natural wonders.

Israel has some of the world’s most famous ancient sites many of which are so easy to explore. One of the most remarkable is Masada, the mountainous stronghold at the edge of the Judean desert where Jews tried to fend off the ancient Romans.

Ancient Wonders, Modern Cities
Then, there is modern Israel. Did you know Tel Aviv is today one of the most vivacious and exhilarating cities in the world? You’ll find a buzzing nightlife, world-class cuisine, and beautiful beaches ranked 9th in the world. Everyone should explore the old city of Jaffa within Tel Aviv where you can enjoy fresh meze dishes (small plates) by the sea. Read more about the exciting history of Old Jaffa. With its rich history, breathtaking landscapes, and vibrant cooking style, Israel is a destination that will leave you feeling spiritually rejuvenated.

If Israel is on your travel radar, good news! On November 3, 2023, we will embark on a wonderful tour called, Israel the Holy Land. This enriching journey will cover all the most important sites from the golden city of Jerusalem, dramatic Masada, the beautiful Golan heights, and Galilee – and of course, you can even float on the Dead Sea. Read all about it.
